A powerful evening storm, carrying heavy rain, hail and 80 mph straight-line winds, causes widespread damage to the campus. The storm causes a power outage, numerous broken windows, water damage and downed tree limbs as well as damage to roofs and siding. |

Homer Martien Cook is elected acting president to serve with President H.K. Taylor for four months, and therefore the school had two presidents. |

The Registrar's Office announces a new resource, Degree Audit, to assist students in their degree-planning process and provide students with the ability to create their own four-year plan. |

The College of Professional and Applied Studies becomes the Melvin D. and Valorie G. Booth College of Business and Professional Studies in honor of 1967 alumnus Mel Booth. |
